Jim Thorpe... and a few others

Image
I know you all mus tget tired of my kids and husband but you know what that is what and who I am. Andy and I took Jack to a little town called Jim Thorpe. It is an artsy town with sweet shops and cafe's and a few B&B's. The best part of T is that it is so close to the river and most of all the train ride. We had an amazing day truly exactly what we needed. I have tons of pics to share so if not interested dont scroll down. If you are it is pics of PA in the fall, a beautiful child on a train, a man that so loves his son and most of all I was walking along a path and saw an amazing pic and had a glimpse thought of my Dad, fleeting but then it was gone. I just opened the file and there he was in the middle of the pic I will post it first for all you naysayers. I am happpy today. I should let these days fill my head.

hockey!!!!!

Yeah its only preseason but I must say there were four fights and a split head tonight, can I be honest I LOVE IT!! The more testosterone filled hockey fights the more I love it. We had amazing seats and could hear the players grunting and groaning as they bashed into the glass. Awesome. I went to the game with Allie and had a few beers and really chilled out and had a great time. She is fun and I loved it. Tickets to preseason 45dollars dinner before the game 30 bucks three beers in plastic cups 18 dollars blood on the ice.... priceless... Yehaaw Im barbaric but these guys show up to fight, they love to fight and yes I love to watch them bash each others faces to bits on the ice. Okay so I dont want bits of faces on the ice but a few punches here and there too cool. By the way we lost... LOL Second commentary tonight is the HOCKEY MOM FROM ALASKA!!! I wanted to like her really I did. I wanted to be excited for the prospect of another great woman in politics following Hilla...

funny things happen sometimes>>>>>

We used to watch this movie during the Christmas season and wait for it. It was during a time when a program was on just once during the holidays so you had to be aware of when it was going to be on and NOT MISS IT. On Christmas eve we would sit about the tube and watch Emmet Otter s Jugband Christmas. So darn cute. Now I found it on Youtube and the words are so telling. I never heard that before. I am glad I refound Emmett, He is a safe and happy place to visit. Another thought while I am here tonight, the tv fireplace. Yeah the YULE LOG!!! Channel 9 WOR-TV!!!! Shit that was a true sign of CHristmas eve. If the yule log was on it was time to celebrate. ANd SOB If it wasnt on for the entire holiday eve and day at 122. OH its all good. I guess you can tell I am starting the thoughts of Christmas, New house new CHristmas. Love to all.

Tim Russert

I was wandering about Barnes and Noble last year at about this time and found the book by Tim Russert, Wisdom of Our Fathers. I purchased it and have enjoyed it periodically throughout the year. When sadly he passed away suddenly around Easter I was so happy I had gotten the book prior to the loss and felt almost "extra wise" for finding it when I had. The book is a collection of stories sent to Tim about peoples fathers and the stories that sustain them after death, illness, separation. I go back to some of the same stories because they bring me some peace. Others feel the same and that is a comfort I guess. One story in particular hits home with me when I read it and does bring a chuckle along with a few tears. It is the recollection of a family or moreso the daughter after caring for the dad for many years and he wasnt able to go anywhere she would return home in the afternoon and recount her travels and the people she saw and really what she learned that day. The j...

Puddles and a tree that I have watched change from bare in the winter to spring sprouts, summer leaves of green and now I see the beginning of fall. I think I love this tree.
