Two of the most tradition-rich teams in the nation. A 12-game series in the 1980s and early 1990s that provided the classic in '87, Craig Fayak's last-second field goal in 1990, Rick Mirer-to-Reggie Brooks to win with 20 seconds to go in '92. It's Penn State-Notre Dame. One more time. When the longtime rivals meet at 6 p.m. tonight in Beaver Stadium, they may be doing so for the last time. Despite the passion fans in both states still have for what was one of the best year-ending matchups in the country more than a decade ago, the teams aren't scheduled to meet again during the regular season in the near future. Ye sit is true. The matchup of the year, maybe not for the actual football persay but the rivalry and history of the whole thing. Yup it is true NOTRE DAME VS> PENN STATE. They met for the first time last season after a twenty year hiatus because of different whatrevers but now the Fighting Irish are at Happy valley. Now here comes the best part, Tickets going for over a grand per seat. Guess where my kid is at.???? Of course you know she is not at her quiet Catholic university nopooooo.. She is in the middle of happy valley with her HS buds that are students at PSU and partying her ass off. She called last night at about 8:30 and I heard this incredible roar. then as I concentrated I could hear the chanting of thousands of college students WEE ARE PENN STATE!!!! And My Allie screaming in the foreground just plain old joyful spirited yaahhhhhhh!!!!! She obviously coldnt hear me laughing my butt off and enjoying the band playing their PEnn State fight songs.
