The little things are gaining traction

The little things in life have always been just that... nuances, feelings, fleeting moments that held very little weight.  We have heard forever "It's the little things that count."

SO now I am compelled to notice the little things because I have learned through my own experience that the little things are the most precious.  We forget them, I reminisced a few blogs ago that I have mountains of years that I have forgotten.  The daily grind, the endless breakfasts, the countless laundry loads, the 100's of miles, 1000's probably going up and down Wyoming Avenue.  That is only counting "THIS LIFETIME" with Jack, not even measuring "THE FIRST LIFETIME" with my girls.  Because if you know me they are two separate yet equal lifetimes.  Opposite in their approach, attack, and retreats but equal in the love expended and contributed.

Now that my 34 years as a daily mother is soon drawing to a close (frightening) I am soaking up as much as I can.  Last night the boy fell asleep on my bed.  He had showered, finished his homework and came in to watch the end of "Creatures great and small" with me.  Before I knew it he was snoring.

Andy was out of town and I was all locked up and tucked in.  I let him sleep.  I hadn't had him asleep for a long while.  Hes grown you know.  Hes in his room doing boy stuff so this was a surprise.  I thought

:Here I am basking in the small stuff, something this simple never made a wave, but now, yeah I felt it

He has a deviated septum (pretty sure) since an adventure with a trampoline jump to the face a few years ago.  Probably lucky he didn't break his neck.  Anyway that said, he snores... Jack snores louder than Andy.  Along with he is a vivid dreamer.  SO I can say it was not a restful sleep, but probably my last with him.  I enjoyed the small stuff.  The night talking, the stuttering snores and whistling half nose.

Today we submitted a few scholarship applications as we help him decide whether he is going to Penn State University park or James Madison University in Virginia.  We are so incredibly proud of him and his hard work paying off.

Blah blah blah   I won't hear him snore from either of those places.  That is terrifying.
