Summer 2019
I am making this post to catalog this summer as "The Summer" . I have a few pics of my favorite moments but these dont capture the whole thing in all of its splendor and fun. Of course The middle of July saw "Quick Rick Jones" pop on over to the East Coast. It was a whirlwind two weeks with lots and lots of laughs, bike rides, music festivals, POMPEYFEST which deserves a post of its own. Hikes, mountain visits, long chats and of course moments like this one above. Just straight up, "I understand you, I get you, and we are all ok."
Here is our Jack on his 14th birthday. No glasses our of shower and just happy to see me. I adore, treasure and admire this guy. He doesnt know it yet, but he is all that. I dont want to tell him too often because he doesnt seem to believe me. You are smart, fully, thoughtful, kind. Sharp witted and ver very much your fathers son in the debate and negotiate department. He is busy on Minecraft still building countries and communities. You are wtiting abook now about "The 30 percent" It amazies me how your brain works. You are very busy with Cross country and yesterday you beat one of the fastest guys on the team. You were so excited when you came home to tell me the Seniors gave you a fist bump and said "Respectable." WOOOOOOOW!!! That is the best. You went to Boy scout camp slept alone in a tent and loved it. Swimming, Canoeing, Environmental science, and First AId were the badges you earned with ease. Summer camp has become something you love and look forward to. I on the other hand are just getting used to the idea even though its year 3. I love you jack and cant wait to see what 8th grade has in store for you. You are a gift.
Here are Jack and I at the YMCA Bernies run on July 4th. You ran the 3 miles with ease and came in at a very respectable pace. I finished 2 nd in my age group. I even got a MEDAL!!! Never earned a darn thing athletically in my life!!! This was a very ery special moment in my life story. I hope to reflect back on this day, and get even a little of the joy I had driving away from that. I was feeling so optimistic, joyful, proud and blessed. Fabulous. Now I know why people run races!!!
My first getaway of the summer was with these gals. KP my thick and thin girl. Beautiful people, nice weather and some time to chat and just be. I am so lucky to have great friends in my life.
These three..... I think this picture represents Jack growing up. The freinds you dont have to see all the time, you dont need to call, text or even hang out with. But... If you need me, Ill be there. That is a blessing. A wild ride I say.
Me, in Philadelphia, after my appointment with Dr Wolinsky. I feel good, I am trying, and I told him "I am fighting hard." He said "I know you are." "Keep it up, they need you." How much more do I need than that?
My dear sweet, cantankerous Owen. This is a t Knoebels and we had a great day The girls Allie Owen Nana ANdy JackMissi Bman. It was a perfect day. I am beyond blessed and grateful.
