Nothing Gold can stay.
Every leaf speaks bliss to me,
Fluttering from the autumn tree.
Emily Bronte
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold,
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Robert Frost
Nothing Gold Can Stay.
This leaf I picked up out the mountain over labor day weekend. I have it on the hood of our car, I didnt intend for it to turn out so cool looking with the reflection, but it is pretty.
What can i say about the fall? It seems like more of a new begining to me than new years eve.
Restart of school for everyone.
Myself, a new semester, Missi starting her lat semester of in class at LCCC until she begins her internship in January.
Jack begining second grade which has been really good so far.
Soccer games, started karate with the boy.
I like the rebirth of spring, but there is something to be said about shedding what we have, to be left with just the bare essentials.
To be preparing for a long winter, Pulling in tight, wrapping up warm.
Preparing for Thanksgiving which is my favorite FAVORITE time of year.
I have a pending event in November, the elections.
I am somewhere between, thinking of a new outfit and looking ok in the eyes of the people that live in this town AND running away to live in a small town in the south with myboy, change our names and speak with a drawl. Wear a big hat, and making lemonade on the porch of my little bayou home.
My boy will run around without his t shirt and barefoot. Call me Mama. Eat lots of crawfish.
Dusty roads. Big trucks.
I think Im more intrigued by the south than being the Mayors wife.
ANYWAY THATS A WHOLE DIFFERENT POST.
Im ok with Fall, I hd a nice summer with our boy. We did fun stuff and spent quality time Mommy and Jack.
But a change is good.
Our bedroom window was open a crack lst night and I could feel the cool air blowing in on my face throughout the night. smells of Fall, an extra blanket, cozy socks, ...
