Blue Moon...
Tonight is the first Blue Moon, in like forever.
Well after googling Blue Moon it turns out to be NOT THAT RARE.
It certainly isnt a Haleys Comet, kind of rare.
It is the second full moon of a single month.
Which I enjoyed reading had/has something to do with old proverbs in the bible. The timing of Easter has to do with lunar cycles.
OK, that being "put to bed". Lets talk about those things that again, only happen every once in a while. As well as what should I do with my blue moon this evening? Another fact that this is not a literal BLUE MOON. It is just a full moon.
Just a full moon.
Should I call a friend that I dont talk to enough?
Should I go for a walk by moonlight?
Maybe I should kiss my husband under the full moon? He's working late.
Should I go for ice cream and sit with ALL THOSE PEOPLE that seem to gather at the Baskin Robbins in town?
Hmm I dont think so they seem far too... familiar for me. I think they have an ice cream club, really I do. Tons of people FILL the outside seating of BR and chat for what seems forever. Im good on that.
How about I give myself a manicure and pedicure? maybe. probably not.
What about sit on the deck in the back and watch the moon rise over our neighbors trees, maybe catch the end of the lightning bugs. hear the end of summer crickets and night buggies. Just Jack and I at home tonight. Maybe see what the boy wants to do with his BLUE MOON EVENT?
There is an event down at the riverfront commons starting tonight. Referencing adoption and foster parenting with bands and some entertainment I think.
Maybe...
Maybe I will hang at home with my wonder boy and walk in the evening air and check out the full moon.
Maybe we will drive to the Avoca airport with the 200 dollars I have squirreled away and see how far we can get on an airplane.
How about we go to the Martz bus terminal and see how far we can get on a bus.
Maybe I will pull out the credit card I never use and head to Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond and buy stuff we would only buy ONCE IN A BLUE MOON.
How about I cut my hair short?
Maybe get Jacks hair cut short? nah.
Maybe go to Wegmans and buy exotic fruit, and taste it all.?
How about the liquor store? I never go there, well hardly ever. Only every ONCE IN A BLUE MOON.
Go for a night swim?
Go to a movie? We never do that.
Its a beautiful evening here, unusually warm.
I know what I never do! Clean my laundry room and pantry! aghh that isnt BLUE MOON worthy.
Jack had an "OK" day at school today so he is off his ds and the computer priviledges so he is pretty antsy to do something.
Since he just threw a football at a stray cat in the yard, he seems to be getting in more trouble with his "Free time". than not.
"I didn't WANT to hit the cat with the football, I am just a good thrower."
I told him about the full moon and it being called a blue moon tonight.
We hashed out the movies, ice cream, haircut, wegmans, and the band by the waterfront. (Last time we went "I got eaten by the bugs, remember MOM!!! Never EVER going there again!")
Now we have martz bus, airport and credit card splurge.
hmmmm the desire is there, but my little companion has a guilty conscience, (nothing like his mamabear) "We can't leave Daddy here, he might like a bus ride somewhere."
I vote walk to the river and watch the moonrise, lots of bugspray, flashlight, and maybe even a chair.
yup, thats it.
Our once in a BLUE MOON event is planned.
I will take pictures and surely post them for all to see.
There may be a pedicure in my future tonight or a soak in the "big tub" after the boy hits the sheets. The liquor store is not totally out either, a bottle of wine, tub , pedicure, AFTER my moonlit walk with my favorite boywonder.
Finish my book too, The Cottage At Glass Beach by Heather Barbieri .
Then to round out the night I just might kiss my husband when he gets home.
You know KISS HIM.
Without provocation or cajoling.
Just straight up kiss him, passionately, because he would love that.
But... then again... this is MY BLUE MOON EVENT NOT HIS!!!!!
