Purple mountains majesty.
I haven't said too much about our trip to VEGAS.
Best part by far...Danny.
His flight was delayed by about 18 hrs but his arrival was still amazing. Maybe better than if he arrived late the night before. We were all around the pool at our resort and he walked into the pool area wearing mirrored sunglasses, red white and blue starred swimming trunks and a white tank t shirt. He was carrying two cans of Budweiser and a a great big smile. He was the most beautiful site I've seen in a long time.
I went over and hugged him, told him I love him and just breathed him right in.
All in one perfect piece.
Nana hugged him and kissed him and told him how much she missed and loved him.
Definitely a highlight of my life thus far.
Other highlights...
lying in the pool without looking for a six yr old. My face to the sun and my mind clear.
Hanging with Kaleigh. Allie and Danny and watching them make memories together. I know I can be long gone and these kids will ll bring our family long into the future.
We had a really awesome dinner all together at an amazing Italian restaurant then saw a hypnotist show. That was fun.
It was just a quick reminder of why I love my family. No matter what, ALWAYS.
Highlight:
The flight into Las Vegas from Chicago. I was able to look out the window and watch our beautiful country scroll by my window at 40, 000 feet. (?). I saw farms and green mountains with rivers and very Northeast turn into midwest.
Flattter country of farms that patterned the ground like a beautiful blanket . Colors of different crops that looked everywhere from yellow, greens, whites, brown, and reds.
That country turned into the hillier mountains of the western midwest I guess. Huge mountains white tops covered in snow, small towns would pop up in the valleys of the mountains. I had to wonder ... could there be anything wrong with living down there? it looks perfect there. I dont know where that was. but gorgeous. We kept flying and the mountains were purple on one side of the plane and the other side looked flatter and with mountains with more brown hues. An hour later we were definitely over the grand canyon and the light was beyond words.
Small town again with amazing backdrops that were beyond words.
Then no towns and all desert. colors of every hue moving mountains from side to side as the time passed.
Until we finally came to a break in the desert and saw some green, that was las vegas.
The flight and scenery was almost as amazing as the trip.
I am a small speck on this planet, not even a speck. The numbers of people we flew over top of without even an idea we were there. A speck on a speck.
The hoards of people in Las Vegas. Ill never see again. All so overwhelming for this small speck of a gal.
One minute bad guys are shooting at our Danny boy, the next we are drinking Budweiser and playing cards by the pool.
Im a happy speck of a speck.
