Just in the nick of time.

Right when I thought it was way too hot to come out of my room, The heavens smiled down and cooled things off.
Well lets just say the heavens looked down and threw us a few curve balls.
Last Tuesday, Allie, Missi, Jack, Jyllian and I went for a late lunch at a local little diner/restaurant. While sitting there enjoying our salads and awaiting a few turkey clubs-the table began to rock. Nothing too astounding since I live with a family of leg shakers-bouncers.
It was a rolling table to best describe it. I suddenly felt dizzy and nauseous as if I was going to pass out. It took about ten seconds of the patrons all looking around at one another to realize... EARTHQUAKE!!!!
I looked up and the lights were swaying, a slow swing.. but they were rolling along with the tables. I looked in a split second at my daughters across the table from me, my son to my immediate left and Jyllian who I love as a daughter next to him.
"get out!"
"Get out get out!!!"
I grabbed Jacks hand and stared directly across to my big babies and said..
"Hurry c'mon its an earthquake!"
We shuffled through our booth, Allie scooped up Jack, who btw was still playing his dS with no recognition of our pending demise.
We ran out of the establishment and poured out the doors into the parking lot.
Staggering, like 4 drunk women carrying a 6 yr old we were out!
As we stood in the parking lot we saw others coming out of the surrounding buildings, one woman was near hysterical, yelling "Ive got to get home, right now!!!"
I was not that person...
I thought I wasnt until the observation of my true behavior were revealed.
I guess I was yelling.
I guess I was yelling really loud, and people were staring at me.
I guess I said something about "EARTHQUAKE< ESARTHQUAKE The building is going to fall down!!!!"
"OH MY GOD GET OUT GET OUT HURRY HURRY RUN RUN RUN!!!!!"
I dont recall this behavior.
I really dont.
My daughters recall it quite easily with fits of laughter now, mocking my panic state.
Yeah well.....
Im the Mother, Im allowed to act like an idiot.
Blah blah blah hah ha ahahahah .
Ah shut up.
I saved your lives.

Tomorrow I will update you all on my preparations for the hurricane.

  It has been 75 days. When I went to bed at night I would cry, every night.  My Mom would begin the process of "bedtime" at least 30 minutes before I actually had to go to my room.  She would give me the countdown. "Next commercial break"  "Ten more minutes"  "Go get your last drink of water" Some nights she would begin to doze and I would squeeze another 10 minutes until the dreaded bed time.  When I was in High School my best friend was Amy.  I don't remember how we met or where, but somehow we just clicked.  I believe it was probably on the patio where in the 1980's you could go outside and smoke cigarettes with your friends on free mods or breaks.  Yep those were the days.   We were in 10th grade which made us 15.  I smoked Parliament light 100's  with the recessed filters (IYKYK) and she smoked Benson and Hedges.  She was a cheerleader that was so far from the "cheerleader" type it would crack us up.  We wrote notes in those days, scraps of paper that we would purge our daily trials onto, fold in some triangular football shape and pass to one another in the hall.  We could fill a note throughout the day and then I would throw it into a box for the ages to find someday.  We were able to talk endlessly about music, people, boyfriends, animals, school, college, parents, divorce, siblings, hours of chat.  We al...

 Lets talk about graduation parties!  Should I order the chicken scampi or marsala for the chicken dish?  Cakes and cupcakes or cookies?  DJ or photo booth or both? So we decorate the cake with Wyoming Seminary as a graduate or Penn State as his college destination? No, we wont talk about that.  You know, the "drophimoffandleavehimtherepart" or the "Ihaveabsolutelynopurposewithouthiminmydailygrind" lets not forget "Whenyoufoughttoliveforthisboyandnowheisgoingwhylive?" OK OK I'm not going to end my life because Jack is leaving for college, but for christs sake what the fuck is my purpose now?  I am struggling, struggling with so many things right now.
