Since Thanksgiving...
Sorry about the massive delay.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving.
Had a blessed Christmas, and quiet New Years eve.
The kids seemed happy with their gifts, as I was. I received some beautiful thoughtful gifts. Mary Cassatt books, homemade Jewelry box from jack and Andy. A robe that is cozy and comfy from my girlies.
I received a homemade cd from brother Dan that really touches me. the music was sweet and deep. Im thinking the things hecant SAY out loud, he is SAYING in music. I love him for that.
The holiday season was one I have been waiting to have for many years.
We hosted Christmas at our house. We started with Christmas eve. My sister in law and nephews even stayed here for Santa to visit!
Andy and I went to A friends house around 12 midnight and enjoyed a few beers.
Then came home and got ready for the big day!
Christmas day we had 25 people here.
We also had breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, drinks of every shape and size, we had 10 am mamosa's which were awesome.
Then we started the dinner.
We had, lasagna (vegetarian)
Ham, mashed potatoes, broccoli, spinach salad, green bean casserole.
And the cream of the crop we made a beef tenderloin.
Anzy bought it and brought an amazing recipe. Then she had the audacity to get a migraine, leaving Allie and I with a piece of meat the size of half a cow and a recipe written in almost pig latin! (She was rally sick though, not mad at her really)Thank God she came out of the bedroom long enough to save our asses from screwing it up.
It was delicious.
Dinner was great, company awesome and all was well.
Only problem.
The elephant in the room.
HUGE FATIGUE DRESSED ELEPHANT!
My nephew is being deployed to Iraq in February. He will be sent to a country that hates him. They will look for him, and TRY to hurt him.
THERE WILL BE PEOPLE FAR AWAY THAT WILL BE LOOKING FOR HIM.
Thay is not a good thing.
This is what brings tears to my eyes at all times of the day and makes sleep leave my body.
He wants to go. He is well trained and is feeling READY.
Well, we are not ready.
I watched him over the Christmas that I waited to have so that we could all be together and REMEMBER FOREVER.
He spent time with Allie and Missi. His Mom and Dad, Nana, Uncle Tim, Dave and Lorraine.
Andy and Jack.
It was the Christmas I wanted. I dreamed of this Christmas together and it was what we needed. I think.
Then the next day we had his PARTY.
All of the families got together and we ate, and laughed, and enjoyed everyones company.
Ignoring the underlying knowledge that this is a very dangerous thing he is doing.
Something really bad can happen to him.
It happens everyday to other peoples sons.
I stood at my sink making 7 pounds of potato salad, crying, realizing we were having a party for everyone to say "so long", be safe, don't get shot or blown up.
I cried.
then finished the potato salad and smiled, hugged and continue to pray.
This family cant survive something happening to this young man. He is our boy.
So If you read this pray for our Marine.
I am going to be ok.
We will be ok.
Most of all, he is going to be ok, and come home in one piece, with stories to tell us.
Jack is doing alright, he has is TSS worker in class with him, and she is lovely.
His behaviors are definitely improving and we still love him as much a ever.
I will try to blog more this year.
Maybe find a topic to blog, maybe Danny's adventures.
Maybe the girls adventures.
Jack and my adventures through 5 1/2.
