I want you to know that you are pretty damn lucky to be lying in your queen size bed next to a man that talks to you in his sleep. He may kick the blankets out every night from their perfectly tucked position but hey It could be worse. He comes home from work and wants to kiss you EVERYDAY.
Your girls, well they are always on time, when you give them a curfew and they usually call when they are supposed to. They say they love you EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. They are beautiful, smart, and most importantly funny. They dont take themselves too seriously and have never been accused of being quitters. Nothing worse than a quitter.
Your little boy? well you know the one that didnt talk? well he is talking. ALOT!!
He told you about his walk with Daddy tonight on his bike, and how he pedalled all the way up the hill and went WEEEEE all the way down.
He kisses you "many many many times Mommy" all wet snotty kisses on your forehead, cheeks and chin. He wants to come home after school and doesnt want to leave in the morning because he wants to stay at "mommy's house".
You have been given a chance to LIVE, You had a choice to live or go onto another place and you chose to live.
Why are you doubting yourself all the time?
Why do you let yourself off the hook so easily?
Why havent you started your legal nurse consultant class yet?
Why arent you at the gym?
Yeah right now, right now you should be at the gym walking your way to a few more years with your family and friends.
Hey Suzie, stop giving everyone else another chance all the time and work on yourself for once. Get on the ball and go to the gym.
Tell your Mother that you are glad she is still there for you.
tell your brothers that no matter what happens in this life you are their greatest fan and they will always be your link to the "best of times".
Show a stranger a kindness that they will think about for a while.
Give something away that you love to someone that will LOVE IT MORE.
Pet the dog, she will be surprised and happy.
Remind Allie that she has LIFE BY THE BALLS, literally, LIFE BY THE BALLS.
In the palm of her hand she has the ability to make a difference in the world for countless people for many many years. She needs to realize that the chance to make change comes very very infrequent in this life HOLD ONTO IT TIGHT and MAKE IT COUNT!
Give Missi a chance to show you what she does, why she does it and how it makes her special. Even though you dont understand the Artists mind, dont give up on her and consider it invalid, or unworthy, remember the people that tell YOU how talented you OWN DAUGHTER IS. Encourage her to nurture her differences, revel in her pure individualism. Admire her courage to remain herself through a time in the world when different, is, ODD.
