Ye sit is true. The matchup of the year, maybe not for the actual football persay but the rivalry and history of the whole thing. Yup it is true NOTRE DAME VS> PENN STATE. They met for the first time last season after a twenty year hiatus because of different whatrevers but now the Fighting Irish are at Happy valley.
Now here comes the best part, Tickets going for over a grand per seat.
Guess where my kid is at.????
Of course you know she is not at her quiet Catholic university nopooooo..
She is in the middle of happy valley with her HS buds that are students at PSU and partying her ass off.
She called last night at about 8:30 and I heard this incredible roar. then as I concentrated I could hear the chanting of thousands of college students WEE ARE PENN STATE!!!!
And My Allie screaming in the foreground just plain old joyful spirited yaahhhhhhh!!!!!
She obviously coldnt hear me laughing my butt off and enjoying the band playing their PEnn State fight songs. She held her phone up so I could hear it for about 1 minute and then screamed into the phone "Love you Mom, I wish you were here!"
Then hung up.
I held the phone an extra few seconds.. I was never so proud in my life. She was thinking of me at an excitng time in her life. I am so lucky.

ANYWHOOOO...

She will be tailgating all day then attend the game. She is leaving early Sunday tog et back to reality and study all day Sunday.'

Missi went out on a date l;ast night with her beau Jared. He is a very nice boy that lives about 45 minutes away from us. Since they go to the only Parochial HS in the county there are kids from very far away going there. Of course she meets the boy that lives in Drums. Where the Hell that is I still dont know but his parents drive him down anytime they have chance to go out.
They went to a movie and for pizza nad then to Barnes and Noble for a while. She was home around 11. Tonight is a sleepover here with Missis friends. How any you ask???

  It has been 75 days. When I went to bed at night I would cry, every night.  My Mom would begin the process of "bedtime" at least 30 minutes before I actually had to go to my room.  She would give me the countdown.  When I was in High School my best friend was Amy.  I don't remember how we met or where, but somehow we just clicked.  I believe it was probably on the patio where in the 1980's you could go outside and smoke cigarettes with your friends on free mods or breaks.  Yep those were the days.   We were in 10th grade which made us 15.  I smoked Parliament light 100's  with the recessed filters (IYKYK) and she smoked Benson and Hedges.  She was a cheerleader that was so far from the "cheerleader" type it would crack us up.  We wrote notes in those days, scraps of paper that we would purge our daily trials onto, fold in some triangular football shape and pass to one another in the hall.  We could fill a note throughout the day and then I would throw it into a box for the ages to find someday.  We were able to talk endlessly about music, people, boyfriends, animals, school, college, parents, divorce, siblings, hours of chat.  We al...

 Lets talk about graduation parties!  Should I order the chicken scampi or marsala for the chicken dish?  Cakes and cupcakes or cookies?  DJ or photo booth or both? So we decorate the cake with Wyoming Seminary as a graduate or Penn State as his college destination?
