lost art .
The boy and I are alone for the weekend. The "big guy" is away at National Guard weekend. I admire him for his commitment to the country. 4 years in the Navy as a Corpsman, then the last twenty or so i the guard and Naval reserves. He went to Saudi Arabia i 91, and really did his thing there. I truly believe he is a man with a lifetime of story to tell. So The man is away. Missi is with her posse' having a weekend sleepover birthday shindig. They are an unusually curious and quirky bunch. They call themselves the fab five. The odd squad. Her friend that is having the party loves halloween so they had a masquerade halloween party. costumes, trick or treating stuff. all out good time I wish I could have gone I would have been Pam anderson. Allie is at Nana's house with the BOYFRIEND for the night. Yup Nana is away and her boyfriend is staying over and I am allowing it and not bothering them. That would never have happened in my day.
OK here are the choices:
1. say no he cant stay over and they lie and say that they are at different places and stay at a friends house in their basement together anyway. Or spend most of the night in her car, movie theater or someplace remote that only axe murderers and horny kids can find.
2. Let them stay at nanas house know they are protected and they bring me food at 1030 at night and visit with me for an hour or so and they are good kids. They are having sex whether I condone it or not.
Jack and I went to Barnes and Noble last night. We had a really nice time. My friend Joanne was there who I havent seen in a dogs life. We recapped kids, work, husbands, exhusbands, heartattack, Jack, Maryellen, then ...... Well It was soooonice tosee youuuu.
Expected exchange of phone numbers and hug hug kiss kiss. I wont hear from her
why so pessimistic, we dont have anything in common anymore. Her kids are the same age as the girls. she is working, Im not. She has historically been a negative pessimist and I cant use that right now. I sound pretty negative myself but I hope she calls, but I can read people pretty well, It wont happen.
Saw my favorite girl at the music department. She is my girl because she is incredibly smart, knows her music, and has the most enchanting smile. I actually look forward to seeing her when I go to the B&N. We discuss our latest finds, books, art, music, and chat about her friends my kids. I simply find her to be kin. I showed he the book Iwas purchasing for myself. The lost art museum. Chroicling the most notorious and not so notorious art heists from wwII and since. What works are missing where they may be and who they suspect may have them. I love that stuff my two favorite topics history and art. Jack was a good boy and got a new toy of blocks, stacking nesting blocks He is now filling them up and having a ball with them already.
