And your little dog tooo!
Allie and I go tot he mall. I have 100 dollars to spend on me. That never happens, I always spend it on something or someone else. So I go directly to my fav store, B Moss. OK so the secret is out I am a yuppie dressing scarf wearing hat donning 40 yr old woman. I love the sweaters that are turtleneck, wide legged wool pants, vests, and a cool hat. I am famous for my black beret, you know you have to feel those things in order to wear them.
So we are eagerly shopping me in the size 12 and up , she in the 3,5's. ( lttle shit!!!!) I ask her If she felt that?
felt what
that that that whooosh
I utter whooosh and it comes from the back to the front, cool tight air, champagne bottle whoosh
I feel the urge to grab my 5'8" baby and dive under the rack of knee length wrap around grey sweaters.
I look around everyone is looking at each other and we all grin and hold badk the OH SHIT LETS RUN
My take charge gal says
Mom put everything down lets get out of here and into the middle of the mall.
OH OH OK>
we ( I mean I) put things to the side (because who knows who might come in in the middle of a tornado and take my size 14 jeans with the cool belt and the three sweaters I chose..)
We head to the middle of the mall and there is this man ( young man) telling everyone its a tornado stay away from the windows.
OK No windows here inthe middle of the mall.
We head to the food court of course...
TO THE WINDOWS SO WE CAN SEE !!!!!
WITH ALL THE OTHER HENNA"S
Yup big black cloud on one side blue sky on the other and rain coming in sideways, the pulse in the pit of my stomach with the change in some kind of pressure. Like ears popping thing.
We hung out about 20 minutes called My mom she was in the basement, by herself, and trying to act calm.
My dad would have taken care of her and she would be fine, any way she is there alone and I am in the mall being selfish.
She makes me promise not toleave to mall until the storm has passed.
OK
We hang up and we both start running to the exit to get home quick.
Mom in a basement alone afraid of tornado and not knowing where we are is bad enough.
We get outside jump in the trailblazer and are truly home in 4 minutes,
downed phone poles, cars alongside thwe road floods and rivers of water. we were fine and actually we gave a little yeehaw through the big puddles.!!
All is well now a few power surges here and there but we will be ok. exciting in a dont know any better kinda way.
Why doesnt anyone ever comment my blog, I feel really boring.
